School of Garden Design now presents an exciting Garden Labourer's Course.
This course is beneficial for domestic gardeners, residential complex groundsmen, office and factory groundsmen, as well as for garden services and landscape labourers.

Basic Course details below :
TWO DAY BASIC COURSE FOR THE PROFESSIONAL PRIVATE GARDENER :
This course will be conducted with an interpreter and will cover :
History of gardening.
Plants - how do they live?
Tools and equipment. (different secateurs for different uses; different shaped spades for different uses; lawn and garden rakes; garden forks)
The right tool for the right job.
Maintenance.
Understanding your soil.
Water in the garden (Gardena fittings, some special).
Weeds and removal (Hand tools).
Maintaining beds and border (- maintenance of equipment will be taught i.e. what may be done at home and what must be done at service centre and how often).
The lawn.
Pruning of trees and shrubs (secateurs; lopper; bow saw).
